In the very recent past--so last month--a post was shared on the Library Think Tank on Facebook. I have a FB filter on all my browsers, so in case you cannot see the link, a man named Roderick Douglass posted about the Who Was Harriet Tubman? from the popular children's Who Was books series, written by Yona Mcdonough. In it, Tubman is described as a "happy" slave among other highly questionable excerpts. Since the post, the publisher has removed the book and, I remember there was talk of rewrites but it appears as though the post has been deleted.
Professionally, my library had to have a discussion on whether to remove the book in question. No patrons mentioned the book (and they haven't since then) and so this was a conversation only between my coworkers. Since my new library is recovering from a fire, most of our books are in the midst of being replaced and added into the collection. We conveniently had not moved it yet and agreed on not adding it entirely, instead by looking into another child appropriate Harriet Tubman biography for the collection. This event now has us reading all of the Who Was books and the JFK one is on the chopping block.

I'm glad you brought this up! This is definitely a popular series and definitely made some waves. Due to lateness, points are deducted.
